Jackie Van Fossen
Jackie, a painter at heart, has been working in the fibre and design field for a number of years. She is a member of the Edmonton Needlecraft Guild and the Edmonton Weavers Guild to offset her specialty of quilting. Her passion is working with design and colour, especially colour application of fabric painting, shibori and other surface techniques. Her work has evolved into a collage of multi-media works including felting, embroidery, papermaking, quilting, weaving and surface embellishment. Jackie has studied with such well-known fibre artists as Nancy Crow, Yvonne Procella, Bill Morton, Pam Godderis and Mary Sustrik. Her work has been exhibited in a number of venues throughout Western Canada and she has won numerous awards.

DESCRIPTION: Adding to other surface design treatments, participants will learn a number of techniques to add lettering to their quilted pieces.

CLASS: POST CARD QUILTS

DESCRIPTION: A fun and easy project for making mini-quilts that you can mail to friends and family. Participants will learn how to turn bits of fabrics and leftovers from fabric projects into special gifts that can be mailed away.

CLASS: SILK PAPER
DATE: Mon., and Tues., May 31 and June 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
COST: $ 150.00 Kit Fee: $50.00
DESCRIPTION: Participants will learn how to make silk paper from silk fibre, decorate it and then to imagine uses – practical or impractical for this paper.
